Shrewton Weddings with Sarah and James

At last a wedding in Shrewton where i actually live! And what a wedding this was with Sarah and James, lots of friends and family.  A December wedding can be quite a risk as the weather could be freezing, snowing and always a good chance of rain, but not for this Saturday which was just a week before Christmas.

I started the day with meeting the boys having their lunch and the odd beverage at the Plume and Feathers in Shrewton, such a cosy village pub with roaring log fire and it was only 50 meters from St Mary's Church in Shrewton so a perfect location.

It was then a quick zoom up to see Sarah and the gang getting ready and everything was just so calm and relaxed....Once i had captured some special moments here it was back down to the St Mary's church to see the guests arriving and the Grooms party in full swing in trying to squeeze as many people into the church as possible!!!

Sarah was met by the bridesmaids at the bus stop (I think its been a while since some of the girls have been hanging around bus stops!!) But did make a good picture and we then had a very nice walk to the church, Sarah's Mum nearly lost her footing which also made a great fun shot (Or 2).....I then had my first experience of meeting a Chimney Sweep at the church as this is apparently good luck for a bride to be met by a chimney sweep, he did look great too!!!

The service was very festive and over before we knew it, we then did a very quick zoom around the church for some very quick portraits while everyone was leaving the church in preparation for a super confetti line. Sarah and James took my advice on not having little comes which look nice but you just can't get enough confetti thrown to make it look great, so everyone had big handfuls of confetti which created some gorgeous shots!!

It very quickly got quite dark as everyone walked back to the car park but we managed to get some great candids and the car lights helped for the ambiance. By the time everyone got to the Appleford school for the reception it was very dark but we still managed to get a lovely shot of Sarah and James by the fire plumes.

The school hall was transformed inside by a fantastic marquee from occasions marquees who are also based in Shrewton which just looked brilliant. Black and white dance floor complete with glitter ball and lots of space for everyone to sit, it really did look amazing.

The speeches were lots of fun and i had to use some improvised lights for every one to read their speeches but it also helped me being able to see everyone... Being so close to Christmas we had to have crackers and Christmas hats, i loved capturing some of those facial expressions as the crackers were pulled...The meal was just lovely with special thanks to Jamie pig who made some yummy sausages!!!

My part of the evening finished with capturing the dancing and after Sarah and Jame's first dance i was treated to some very artistic dancing from one of the guests who really did enjoy himself!!

I would like to thank Sarah and James for being just the perfect Bride and Groom, from our initial meetings and pre shoot i knew this would be a great wedding and it certainly was!!! Your friends and family were just lovely and so much fun!!

I hope you enjoy your photographs for a very long time and relive your day whenever you want to.....
