Why choose documentary over lots of posed photos.
Chloe and Lloyd didn’t want lots of posed photos, less for some groups and a quick escape with just them which is great as that’s pretty much what I do.
Documentary wedding photography is important because it captures the authentic moments of your special day in a natural and unobtrusive way. Unlike traditional posed photography, documentary photography focuses on storytelling, showcasing the emotional essence of the wedding as it unfolds in real-time. This approach allows for genuine interactions and candid expressions, preserving memories that reflect the true atmosphere of the celebration.
By prioritising moments over poses, documentary wedding photography provides a comprehensive narrative of the day. It captures the laughter, tears, and spontaneous joy that define weddings, creating a visual story that resonates with you and your loved ones. The resulting images are often more meaningful because they reflect real emotions and raw moments rather than staged interactions.
Additionally, documentary wedding photography reduces the time spent on formal group shots, allowing couples to enjoy their wedding day without interruption. The focus shifts to the connections between family and friends, creating lasting memories that celebrate the relationships that matter most.
Ultimately, this style of photography ensures that your wedding memories are preserved authentically, giving you the opportunity to relive those moments for years to come. It keeps your wedding story real, honest, and timeless, reflecting the true spirit of your celebration.
