PEAR TREE WEDDINGS WITH ASHLEIGH AND LUKE
Pear Tree Weddings with Ashleigh and Luke
Some weddings just feel easy.
Not because everything runs perfectly (although this one wasn’t far off), but because the people in it don’t try to force anything. They just let the day happen.
Ashleigh and Luke’s wedding was exactly that.
A different kind of start
I initially met up with Ashleigh and the girls getting ready at the Pear Tree Bridal suite but the day didn’t really begin at The Pear Tree, but about half an hour away at the church.
There’s always something about a church ceremony that shifts the feel slightly. A bit more grounded. A bit more traditional. And usually a few more nerves sitting just under the surface.
Luke had that quiet anticipation going on — holding it together, but very aware of what was coming.
Ashleigh brought a calmness with her. Nothing rushed, nothing overthought.
Just taking it all in.
The bit where everything slows down
The ceremony itself was simple in the best way.
No big theatrics. No overdone reactions.
Just the two of them, stood opposite each other, properly present.
There’s a moment during ceremonies like this — usually when everything else fades a bit — where it just becomes about the two people in front of each other. You could see it here. Nothing else really mattered in that second.
Those are always the moments that stick.
The people watching it all unfold
One of the things I kept coming back to was the front row.
A mix of expressions — somewhere between proud, emotional, and quietly trying to hold it together. And then, just behind them, the odd burst of laughter breaking through when it felt like things might get too serious.
That balance is always where the real story sits.
Not just what’s happening at the front, but how it lands with everyone else in the room.
A proper pause
After the ceremony, instead of being pulled straight into the next part of the day, they did something that felt completely natural.
They walked.
Just across the road from the church, into their favourite coffee shop.
No rush, no big moment made of it — just a quiet walk together, letting everything settle.
It’s such a small thing, but it changes the pace of the whole day.
A chance to breathe, reset, and actually take in what’s just happened before everything picks up again.
Back into it at The Pear Tree
By the time they arrived at The Pear Tree, everything had shifted.
The nerves had gone. The energy had lifted.
From that point on, the day just opened up.
Confetti, laughter, people properly relaxing into it — the kind of atmosphere where you don’t have to look for moments, they just happen.
The 15-minute escape
We stepped away briefly — nothing staged, nothing overly “photo-y”.
Just a short walk, a bit of space, and a chance for them to be together without everything happening around them.
It’s always the same — this ends up meaning more than people expect.
Not because of the photos, but because it’s often the first time they get a minute alone all day.
Into the evening
By the time the evening rolled around, everything had settled into its stride.
The dancefloor didn’t need much encouragement — people were already there, already in it.
Which usually tells you everything about how the day’s gone.
What actually matters
Ashleigh and Luke’s wedding at the Pear Tree wasn’t about doing anything wildly different.
It was just about doing things in a way that felt like them.
A church, a short walk across the road, a coffee, time to breathe — and then a proper celebration.
Nothing forced.
Nothing overdone.
Just a day that made sense from start to finish.
And that’s always where the good stuff is.
If you’re planning your own Pear Tree wedding and want photography that focuses on real moments rather than posed shots, feel free to get in touch. Whether your day follows a similar relaxed pace or something completely different, the aim is always the same — to capture it as it actually felt.
