Beautiful Grittleton House Weddings with Harriet and Tom
A shared moment captured forever.
Grittleton House Wedding Photography with Harriet and Tom
I love photographing weddings at Grittleton House. As a recommended photographer there’s mutual trust: The Amazing Grittleton Team run relaxed, well organised days and I capture them naturally and professionally.
The house photographs beautifully all year-round, great indoor light and relaxed outdoor spaces ideal for candid, documentary wedding photography. The incredibly hard working team keeps the day flowing while giving couples space to enjoy real moments and natural portraits with no awkward posing.
It really is the perfect setting for relaxed, documentary wedding photography in Wiltshire with real moments, natural portraits and no awkward posing.
Bridal Preparations at Grittleton House
Harriet spent the morning getting ready inside Grittleton House surrounded by her bridesmaids, plenty of laughter and a very relaxed atmosphere from start to finish. These are always some of my favourite parts of the day to photograph naturally as everything is happening around me rather than forcing moments.
And Harriet looked absolutely stunning!
The light inside Grittleton House is always beautiful for preparations and the whole morning had such a calm but excited feel to it.
Wedding Ceremony at the Church at Grittleton House
One of the best things about weddings at Grittleton House is having the church just a short walk away from the house itself. It keeps the day flowing so naturally and means everyone stays together throughout.
Tom’s reaction as Harriet walked down the aisle was such a lovely moment and the ceremony itself was full of emotion, smiles and plenty of laughter.
Confetti and Drinks Reception
Straight after the ceremony everyone gathered outside for one of the most fun confetti moments ever. So much energy, loads of laughter and exactly the sort of real moment I love capturing in a documentary style.
Afterwards everybody made their way back to Grittleton House for drinks, hugs and catching up in the sunshine whilst the atmosphere carried on all afternoon. As the sun was very bright and shooting groups in harsh light is not ideal, we went around the back of Grittleton House for the group photos and I just have to share this shot of Harriet and gorgeous work friends from Vogue! Now this team were a lot of fun!
Relaxed and Candid Wedding Photography
Harriet and Tom’s wedding was exactly the kind of day I love photographing. Relaxed, natural and completely focused on real moments rather than endless posing.
My approach to wedding photography is always about blending into the day and capturing things as they actually happen. The laughs between friends, reactions during the ceremony, guests chatting during drinks and all the small moments couples often never even realise are happening.
I work quietly, watching and waiting so the moments unfold naturally. My approach is documentary-led: I stay unobtrusive, move with the day, and focus on real interactions rather than staged poses.
How I capture moments
Anticipation and observation
Staying unobtrusive
Fast, respectful direction when needed
Continuous storytelling
Natural light and honest editing
Technical consistency
Trust and calm presence
The result: photographs that feel authentic, intimate, and timeless — a true record of how your wedding actually felt.
Even when we went off for portraits, everything stayed relaxed and natural. I love capturing portraits on the move rather than stopping couples for long posed sessions. Just walking together, chatting, laughing and enjoying a few quiet moments away from everyone else for a few minutes. It keeps everything feeling genuine whilst still creating beautiful images.
And I do love a good portrait too! This is when I deliberately pause, connect with the person and gently guide them into a relaxed, natural moment. I’ll chat, find a comfortable pose, and make sure the light and background flatter them—then quietly step back and disappear, leaving them with a portrait that feels honest, effortless and unmistakably them.
To finish the day off, the Indie Killers tore into an incredible first set that kept everyone on the dance floor. The energy was relentless — tight riffs, punchy rhythms, and a frontman who owned the room. What a band. Their set was the perfect, electric close to a beautiful day. https://www.theindiekillers.com
Grittleton House continues to be one of my favourite Wiltshire wedding venues to photograph with its incredible rooms, beautiful grounds and relaxed flow to the entire day. (grittletonhouse.co.uk)
